Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University,
I am privileged to preside over the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University as its Vice-Chancellor.
This is the oldest University in the central India and has celebrated its 100th Convocation in 2014.
The University is named after the Great Saint of Vidarbha, Sant Tukadoji Maharaj, whom the first President of the Indian Republic Dr. Rajendra Prasad spontaneously called “Rashtrasant”, taking into consideration the teachings of the native saint of Vidarbha in the sphere of national, political & social awakening of the people during the pre and post independence days of India. The University has pledged to bring into practice the teachings of this great saint of Vidarbha.
The Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University has been awarded of late “A” grade by the NAAC and that has increased the expectations from this University by the people of this region and the University has tightened its belts to come up to their expectations by producing such graduates with high talent and skill and who would stand firmly with honour and Spartan spirit to meet the challenges of the contemporary world.
Thus University, with its glorious past, is marching ahead in the direction of the pursuit of knowledge and excellence to achieve the desired objectives of education and shall contribute to the national, social, economic and cultural well-being of the nation.
Thus University has achieved success after success at each stage of its development but success after all is a journey and not a destination and the destination is the eternal and perpetual glory of the nation and this University is pledged to achieve that goal and that is it’s raisons d’etre.
